Erinvale Golf Club
One of the Western Cape province’s premier courses, designed by Gary Player on the former site of Erinvale Farm, this venue for the 1996 World Cup of Golf provides a game of two halves. The flat front nine winds between the many residences in this part of the golf estate, and despite the numerous bunkers and water hazards, seems deceptively straightforward to play. In contrast, the challenging back nine back climbs up the lower slopes of the magnificent Helderberg mountain, and hiring an electric golf cart can pay dividends for some of the steeper fairways. However, in compensation for the extra effort, golfers enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline from the top holes.
